    Moving 2.5d up a bit with a responsive, single player action platformer

    Inspired by current action platformers like salt & sanctuary and hollow knight explore a huge 3d world with precise 2d gameplay

    The game is set in a mix of high fantasy and dark fantasy. Spells and weapons from medieval times meet rogue knights and skeleton warlocks. Points of interest: castles, temples, mountains, caves, forrests, cities, villages, rivers and the ocean

    Target Platforms: 1st level: Steam, GoG, Others [pc, linux, ios] 2nd level: Playstation & Xbox

    Target Audience: people who like metroidvania and fantasy adventure games. Target Age: 12+

    What is missing? 3d: models, props, animations 2d: concept art, ui design: terrain (biomes), item mechanics/puzzles, level design additional: optimization, lighting, particle effects writer: story, dialogue, descriptions audio design: background music, ambiente and sound effects

    My part

    I am the producer of the project as well as a programmer.
    I have planned and implemented the game as is solo so far and focused on software architecture and game mechanics.

    What is implemented so far?

    On the application level:
    - menues, persistence, scene management, localization, dialogue + voice acting

    Environment:
    - water, ship physics, different day times (not in realtime)

    Input Controller:
    - Gamepad, Keyboard+Mouse

    keyboard and mouse are currently not fully supported. The controls are gamepad first.

    Game Character:
    - physics, movement, quests, attributes, powerups, weapons, items (like grappling hook and bombs), spells

    Camera:
    - controllable / cinematic

    Enemy AI:
    - basic behaviour for one enemy with different equipment (and slightly different behaviour)

    (Expected) Revenue

    The mentioned games show that a market for action platformers exist - other very well known examples are bloodstained, death's gambit, blasphemous and Shadow Complex.

    Most of the mentioned games come with nostalgic pixel arts but bloodstained and shadow complex are showing that it's not limited to that.

    With small additions to the well known base this game can stand out on it's own.

    The first financial goal is a successful kickstarter project.
    The second goal is to use the funds to release this project as a full game on different platforms.

    Risks & challenges

    The challenge is motivation. I need people who can stay motivated over the development time. I have overcome challenges to create the prototype, and as a team we can overcome the challenges to create a succesful kickstarter leading to a shipable product.
