Revise Together

by Collin Lowe

A small, diverse group working on fine tuning a project into a full demo.

This project is a former class project that we are revamping into a full demo. Any work by people not on the current team is being stripped out and replaced so that we are not presenting anything that does not belong to us.

The game itself is a Darkest Dungeon style game based off of Egyptian mythology. In our current iteration it is still in the progress of adapting to its own story identity.

    My part

I am the current project director, however the team is expected to work closely with one another on an equal level. Cooperation and willingness to revise work is a must. I help assist the team in whatever means I can and troubleshoot any potential fixes to problems that crop up. I also come up with potential solutions and pursue checking out those solutions before presenting them to the team as viable options. I guide and direct the team members both individually and as a team to make sure that we stay on track with the identity of the game.

    (Expected) Revenue

Because we are not intending on selling this game, any revenue that comes in through donations for it will go towards bettering the game or providing machines and technology for members of the team. This includes licensing fees for programs or potentially buying computers to assemble for use by team members.

    Risks & challenges

The primary challenge of this group is that it is unpaid. Therefore all motivation for attending scrum meetings and continuing work goes onto the shoulders of the team leads and the individuals themselves. Members of the team are very self-driven and actively enjoy progress for the sake of progress.

The main risk involved in this project is, as with any project, that the team could collapse under its own weight and dissolve. Therefore, there would be no project to release and nothing to show for the work. However, another risk is that, even if the demo launches, it receives community or monetary support for the work it took to create it.

These are risks that team members should be ready to accept, but willing to work to avoid.
