Witching Hour

    Witching Hour is a stylized, asynchronous 2vs1 supernatural horror experience which is currently being prototyped.

    Witching Hour is a stylized, asynchronous 2vs1 horror experience. Where you can play with your friends hunting ghosts. In most games you can see your opponent and the visual representation of him is your enemy. In Witching Hour your enemy(ghost) is completely invisible, except when they are using abilities (like throwing chairs or an old refrigarator towards you). Also as ghost hunter you need to keep an eye on the environment, little changes, which won`t be noticed by the hunters, could kill them ... like a "not really fixed" ceiling-lamp, which could burn the carpet below ... where a hunter could stand ... or even worse.

    We`re using Discord for team communication and PlasticSCM as ProjectManagementSolution. Our GameEngine is ofc UnrealEngine4.

    We`ve added a small video of our current progress. Our GameLoop is working and we can test our gameplay completely over Steam and the network-system, so everything is setup to start prototyping the gameplay (which is also as you can on it`s track ... without even a programmer). The complete Animation-System is setup and working over the network and so the Menu-System.

    My part

    I´m a Character Artist and Project Manager, who is taking care of the Project Vision and focussing on the 3DArt of the Characters (including concepting, modeling, rigging, retargeting and the complete character setup in the unreal with all the cool physical, clothing and facial animations available). Additionally I´m managing our project , which is handled over Jira.

    (Expected) Revenue

    It`s completely revenue share and we don`t expect to get rich ... our aim is to learn a lot of and apply the knowledge in our next games. For "Witching Hour" our goal is to release a fully functional game on steam. You`ll get payed over StoryPoints, so as more you achieve, the more rev share you gain. We plan to start on starting on patreon to be able to take down our monthly costs for our SCM.

    Risks & challenges

    We`re currently prototyping the game and hopefully getting a decent and fun gameplay in a few weeks to work on. We`re really fresh developers (who have around 1 year of experience) ... but which goals are pretty high in terms of quality. Therefore we have a lot of iteration and a deep learning curve. Our Main Goal is to create an high quality game with a small amount of assets ...

      Function description

      We`re looking for a GamePlay Programmer, who has enough time and knowledge to create a modular Ability-System, which will work in a Multiplayer hosted over steam (Client to Client). Additionally he will need to create Core-gameplay mechanics with our Tech-Artist. You won`t need to create Levels or build UIs ... you just need to completely focus on the functinality, for the look and feel we`ve an experienced tech artist. We are currently completely sacrificing our free time to produce our product and are expecting the same from our programmer.

      Function description

      We`re looking for a concept artist, which "job" is to create concepts ... and not beautiful rendered images. You need to create color-palettes, invent environments, creating moods and shape the visual style of our project ... from animation-sketches to character designs, over prop environment-pieces. Your task is to help our world becomes believable. You would become our Art-Leader and have a very important role, so you`d also need to have a heavy dedication and passion for our product to be able to make it look awesome =)

      Requirements

      Strong Design Skills in Shape-Languages and Color-Theory, Strong ability to create concepts (sketches/silhoettes) and be able to shape them, when you have time. Also you need to talk a lot with our 3D Artists to help them getting your concepts to live!
