StarHome

by Robert Meek

partially successful

StarHome is a 2D space colony builder which challenges the player to maintain a thriving ecosystem on various planets

StarHome is a Free to Play 2D base building sim for mobile, set on explorable planets and moons within the solar system. The players will be challenged to build a base using what limited resources they have available while tackling unique environmental challenges based on the planet that they are on.

The game takes the best elements of games such as XCOM, Fallout Shelter and FTL: Faster than Light to create a game which allows the player a lot of freedom and realism over their colony, whether it is caring for your colonists wellbeing, researching and upgrading technology, or taking part in exciting and rewarding missions, both on the planet's surface and in space.

    My part

I will be acting as project lead and Game Designer. My job will be to keep the vision of the project intact and make sure that the project runs smoothly. I will be working with the programmer to script elements of the game and produce content.

    (Expected) Revenue

There is currently no expected revenue for the project, however as the project progresses revenue will be discussed and every team member will receive a fair part of any revenue made.

    Risks & challenges

    Risks:
    - Sub-par team communication
    - Lack of motivation

    Challenges
    - Finishing the game to a high quality

What game engine would you be using to create this game? I'd be able to help with coding in C# and maybe help with 2D art depending on the style
