    The reason for this team up is quite simple, me and my team are passionate about making our own game!

    Tether

    Tether is an adventure and mystery game along the likes of what remains of edith finch, firewatch, everybody's gone to the rapture and similar type games but with more mechanics and gameplay, so not just a walking simulator!

    We are currently torn between it being in first or third-person so we are prototyping very a small demo to see what works better.

    It is based on the afterlife of a ex-army war veteran that is fighting his last fight that is death, which is orchestrating the whole ordeal where you will make a mends with past wrong doings, relive pastimes and sorrows, experience death's wrath and mind games.

    Where are we

    We are still in the concept phase of game development, where three concepts for the environments have been made and three for the characters in the game with more on the way. We are also slowly prototyping in Unreal with part of the first set of environment assets being made, textured and currently being placed in engine. The core mechanics are slowly being prototyped along with additional interesting systems like a flocking/schooling system for fish and birds.

    The Team

    The team currently holds eight talented members, with all different backgrounds and experiences from a industry veteran that has worked on games such as GTA V, Sin City and a fair few indie games, whilst also working for studios such as Insomniac.

    My part

    I will play a few parts in this project, the main one being the lead programmer. But also, I currently co-lead the project with my partner and I founded the company that started this endeavor.

    With help from my partner we will lead the project, making sure it's progressing and it's on track keeping to the deadlines, we do this via Taiga and Discord. We will also make sure the team is happy and that they know what is needed from them and so on this will be done again through the two applications above but via Agile Scrum which is a known software/project methodology in the gaming world.

    Lastly, I myself will handle all the legal issues, such as the NDA and your contracts that will stipulate all the requirements.

    (Expected) Revenue

    This is a very tough section to work on as we aren't clear on it's expected revenue as it's tough to gauge how a game from a brand-new studio will fair.

    I can say though is that with the the talented team we have currently and with the option of using a professional fundseeker or sites like fig.co we will give ourselves the best chance to profit well.

    Risks & challenges

    I am not going to lie the risks with this kind of project can be seen as ever so slightly high but it depends on the way you look at it.

    As the project is a rev-share project the main risk is doing a large amount of work and the project bombs. But we are taking steps to counter this, in that we will only do what is needed for a demo to be produced and presented to potential publishers and fundraising sites like fig.co etc

    Plus the contracts that will be issued to you via my studio will clearly outline what you'll gain and what the risks are and it's up to you to take it or not.

      Function description

      We are in need of a 3D environment and prop artist although the two can be separate roles i.e. we are in need or both a environment and prop artist. The successful applicant(s) will work closely with myself, the concept, texture artists and the art director to produce closely matched environments to the concepts provided for them.

      Requirements

      Must have experience in producing models in either 3DS Max, Maya or Blender and either Zbrush, Mudbox or Blender Z. You must also understand the workflow in producing assets for games i.e. baked assets etc and specifically for the Unreal Engine.

      Offer

      A revenue share percentage of the profits made from the games sales. The percentage will closely reflect your input in to the game and will be decided once you've successfully applied.

      Function description

      We are in need of a 3D character artist that will create all humanoid and quadruped based characters. The successful applicant(s) will work closely with myself, the concept artists and the art director to produce closely matched characters to the concepts provided for them.

      Requirements

      Must have experience in producing models in either 3DS Max, Maya or Blender and either Zbrush, Mudbox or Blender Z. You must also understand the workflow in producing assets for games i.e. baked assets etc and specifically for the Unreal Engine Also it is imperative that these characters can be easily rigged by our animator. Lastly it would be greatly beneficial but not necessary if the applicant have access to either substance painter or 3D coat for texturing purposes and even more beneficial if they had access to marvelous designer but again not necessary.
