Tap Tap Adventure

by Flavius Poenaru

Tap Tap Adventure is a fully cross-platform and open-source game developed in HTML5.

Tap Tap Adventure is based on the ideal presented by Little Workshop's 2012 Mini MMO - BrowserQuest. It takes the initial idea of providing an open-source environment for players to play in, and takes it a step further. The entirety of the code has been written, the map has been completely redone, music is custom-made and hundreds of sprite arts have been added. The game's main premise is to create a community of developers and players alike that contribute to the game, updates are not only done by the main programmers, but by the community. Votes are taken regarding what new content should be added to the game.

    My part

I will be taking care of the funding for the project, anything ranging from publishing tools, servers, apps and whatnot. I also will provide both frontend, backend and sprite art work. I will be working on gathering the community together and fixing anything noteworthy whenever possible. I do anything from networking, to map-making, to tedious data alterations.

    (Expected) Revenue

The game will function solely on donations, no ads of any nature will be present. No in-app purchases. The donations depend mainly on how popular the game becomes.

    Risks & challenges

The very obvious risk of failure is prominent, though it will offer each and every one of us a learning opportunity. One of the most prominent challenges is ensuring that players remain in the game, that they do not play once and leave, only to never be seen again. The main ingredient is a bit of addiction.
