    Spalaxys is a html5 game that takes place in space.

    Spalaxys is an html5 game that takes place in space. For now we have 4 people actively working on the project but we need some more.

    We are using GitHub to make sure everything is organized and for now we are hosting our game using DigitalOcean. To develop the game we are using javascript. To help us we are using express, socket.io and nodeJS. For the game physics and graphics we will be using PhaserJS combined with TexturePacker.

    We are all learning as we develop the game and we want you to do the same. We are not experts and are just trying to have fun but at the same time make a nice game. In order for the game to be developed properly the project needs to be taken a little serious. This does not mean that you have to work on it everyday, but rather we want to you to see it as something to do when you have time and as a hobby.

    In order to join you need to know the basics of JavaScript, how Github works, and a little bit of OOP programming.

    If you do not know one of these things you can still join us but before developing you will need to learn these skills.

    We already have a discord server and a GitHub repo so if you join make sure I have your discord and github names.

    I should probably also mention that the idea of the game was to make something like moomoo.io A 2D PvP game where you need to get resources and get better over time. You need to build bases and join a clan to get stronger. There can also be classes or choices that a player needs to take in order to make his character stronger. The idea is that every player will be unique in its own way.

    My part

    I will be making sure that the game and development is working as it should be. I am open to work in any position I would like to try and focus on game development and the physics of the game but I will help where needed.

    (Expected) Revenue

    We do not expect any revenue for the game. This is just a hobby and learning opportunity.

    Risks & challenges

    Since we are all not expert programmers, there will be a lot of problems that we will not know how to solve. This does not mean that we can't do it, it is just going to take a little longer but once we get used it production will begin to improve.

      Function description

      As a Pixel Artist, you will have to draw some sprites and the graphics of the game. It does not have to be very good, as everything will be 2D.

      Requirements

      You can use any software you like, maybe photoshop or firealpaca, but for our game since we are using PhaserJS you will have to use TexturePacker which is a software that will put images together in PhaserJS. In that case you will have to know some PhaseJS as well, but that is very simple to learn, so no worries. It would be nice if you know some javascript but it is not a requirement.

      As a Game Designer, you will have to come up with ideas for the game. This means that you will be able to decide things such as, levels, names, art, positions, physics, but all of this needs to be agreed with the rest of the team. This is an important role in the team, because while other people are working on developing the game, you will be able to keep it that way and make the developers bring your ideas to life.

      You need to be creative but realistic. You need to know how a game works and what makes a game fun.

      As a programmer, you will help the team to develop the game itself. In order to join you will have to know some javascript but nothing else is required. You can learn socket.io PhaserJS and those kind of things whilst developing the game.

      You need to be somewhat familiar with Javascript.
