Ascendancy RTS game

    The basic premise behind Ascendancy is a cross between a traditional, competitive RTS and a God Game.

    [Unity project] The basic premise behind the game is a cross between a traditional, competitive RTS and a God Game where representatives of the major elemental gods battle for supremacy. Players will collect resources, build bases and produce element-based troops to be commanded. They will also have access to special Manifest (“godly”) Powers which can be used at any time the player wishes, providing they can afford to pay the resource cost for them. Players can also capture and command neutral super-creatures called Incarnates. Coupling base expansions with fast action combat, the general goal is to destroy your enemy in a PvP setting. For the initial release we will be concentrating on the four “primary” elements of Air, Earth, Fire and Water. Players will choose their elemental race in the match lobby prior to the match beginning.

    My part

    Our studio, Animus Interactive Inc. pays for premium items. From licensing, trademarks, insurance, server upkeep with scaling, repository upkeep, pms, premium advertising materials, video ads, and game conferences. These costs still attribute to multiple thousands of dollars annually. But we cover that ourselves and you never worry about it. We do not ask team members to invest their own money.

    We are a semi-professional company that uses industry standard methods as applies to Game Development (Git commits, ticketing system, etc.). 50+ page detailed GDD in hand. Our game has been in production since the start of 2017 and we have made a lot of progress. We are building our own core RTS engine and the majority of the base is completed. We are not an "asset flip" - we are proud to create all original content.

    We use Discord for chat communication and Google Hangouts for video calls which you would be expected to actively use. We are a team, not a group of individuals who happen to be working on the same project. Proper communication is essential. "Lone wolf" types need not apply.

    Our goal is to develop ourselves into a full-time professional studio. Come take that journey with us!

    We expect the project itself to take about a year to complete for alpha. Initial targeted date for alpha phase is mid- to late-2018.

      Function description

      We need somebody to help us out with rigging and animating game characters and buildings for our upcoming RTS game "Ascendancy." We have people who produce concept art, 3D models and textures. We also have an animator currently on staff, but he needs some help with the work load. Due to the concepts behind the game, characters will be generally "non-humanoid" and have more of a "creature/monster" look and feel to them.

      Requirements

      Understanding of bone rigging and animation for 3D objects. Knowledge of Unity helpful. We expect the project to take a year+ and are looking for people willing to commit to such a time-frame. Relatively fluent in writing/speaking English as we are USA based. Must be at least 18 years old.

      Function description

      Looking for somebody who can put together a narrative and design for a single-player campaign in our RTS game. Also, design/write a "bestiary" of sorts for each of the units within our game. Wide latitude for creative freedom is given, but works under the direction of the studio Game Director.

      Function description

      We are in need of a Unity3D developer who is able to act as a Lead along with our 2 current programmers. Our game has been in production for about a year and we have made a lot of progress. We are building our own core RTS engine and the majority of the base is completed. We are looking for clean, efficient code. No sloppy/hacked stuff. At this point we are just a month or two away from having a functional demo, depending on your personal speed. The person taking this role should be able to work, lead and communicate effectively with an on-line, distributed team. We would prefer somebody with multiple years of C# experience coupled with at least 2+ years Unity experience, especially 3D experience. Knowledge of GIT is greatly desired but not necessary (we will show you if needed). Relatively fluent in writing/speaking English as we are USA based but have team members from around the world. Able to commit 15+ hours per week is also preferred.

    Hi, thanks for the interest. Our game is not based on any real world mythos. We plan to have 4 elemental factions, but are currently just working on completing 2 of them.
