Godfathers

by Chase Brand

Years ago I, and countless others, played a game called iMobsters. This will be a different take on the mobile RPG.

The base game idea is based around four mob families (possibly not, we may let each player decide to join or start a family). Each player will be able to join the mob family of their choosing and attempt to work up the ranks by doing missions, attacking members of other families, purchasing new upgrades, weapons, and vehicles, and passively earning income by investing in casinos, bars, and the like.

Each mob family as a whole will also have the goal of being named "most powerful" monthly, which will reward them with money and XP boosts for the next month. The "Godfather" of each family at the end of the month (the highest rated player) will receive exclusive in-game rewards for their accomplishment. This pushes the family to do well, but encourages competition between members of the family.

The game will have a hit list, where you can pay to have someone attacked (even from your own family!) anonymously. It will feature a Black Market for trading and selling between players, such as weapons, cars, and exclusive businesses).

    My part

My name is Chase, and I am the developer and brainchild behind Godfathers.

I will essentially be "wiring up" the game to our backend, and helping formulate ideas and creating objects for the game.

I will also encourage everyone on the team to explore their creative side with the project, and in the case of the team disagreeing on what to add, I will have the final say (simply to try and keep the team from falling apart on whether or not to add a King Penguin versus a Kaikru [the previous example is not literal]).

    (Expected) Revenue

As of now, the game is slotted to be released as a free to play game on iOS and Android. However, their will be in-game purchases that can be used to open weapons crates to try and earn rare, legendary, and exotic weapons, cars, and businesses.

Any revenue gained from the game's in-game purchase system will be split between members on a to-be-decided method.

    Risks & challenges

Obviously, as with any game development situation, the risks and challenges are- develop a project from the ground up, and don't lose interest or passion for what we are doing. If you would like a detailed description of the services we are using and the long-term plans, feel free to message me.
